A Mandala is a symmetrical design that symbolizes the Universe. You determine what your Universe (Mandala) will be like - its elements, goals, and your mission within the Universe.
Swiss psychologist Carl Jung identified the Mandala as an archetypal symbol of human perfection. Today, it is used in psychotherapy as a means of achieving a full understanding of one's "self."
At the heart of the Mandala is the Yantra. The Sri Yantra is the most famous of all tantric yantras. It represents the mystical design of the cosmos. The Sri Yantra is formed by the intersection of triangles in two directions: four pointing upwards, symbolizing the male principle, and five pointing downwards, symbolizing the female principle. This yantra was devised to provide an image of the fullness and wholeness of existence.
